Cruising along the River Tiber on a Batelli di Roma boat.
If you're looking for something a little different to do, and fancy the idea of getting out of the city for the day, you may want to consider taking a boat trip along the river Tiber. Battelli di Roma run boats along the stretch between Castel Sant'Angelo and Isola Tiberina. An all-day, hop on-hop off ticket costs €14/€10 when booked online. They also offer cruises with dinner and wine.
In the summer there are also daily boat trips along the Tiber to Ostia Antica: these depart from Ponte Marconi and often need to be booked in advance. A round trip cruise to Ostia Antica takes a little over two hours each way, with a two-hour stopover to explore the ruins.
You can find out more and book cruises at the Batelli di Roma official website.
