Fiumicino Airport (aka Leonardo da Vinci Airport)

Fiumicino, to the north-east of Rome, is the main airport for the city. This is where you'll end up if you fly one of the main carriers, such as British Airways or Alitalia.

Getting to and from Rome

For €9.70 you can catch the direct train to Termini station. It's called the Leonardo Express, and it always leaves from the platform at the far side of the airport's own train station. Don't forget to convalidate your ticket after you've bought it - this can be done in the little yellow machines near the platforms.

Taxis from Fiumicino Airport

There is now a fixed rate fare in place for taxi journeys between Fiumicino airport and the city centre (anywhere within the old walls). The rate is €40 and includes baggage and up to four passengers. Bear in mind though that only official taxi cabs licensed by the city of Rome are obliged to honour the fixed rate. You can find more information on the Comune di Roma website.
