Artesia Trains from Paris to Rome

If you're not in any hurry, and like the idea of a more leisurely arrival in the city, you might want to consider taking the overnight train from Paris to Rome, run by Artesia. We've not taken this train ourselves, but we've heard good things from people who have.

The Artesia night trains leave Paris Gare de Bercy early in the evening (around 7pm) and reach Rome's Termini station the following morning. They have a variety of cabin options, from cheaper seats in shared cabins to private berths, and the prices vary accordingly. If you want a really long train journey, take the Eurostar from London to Paris and change in Paris for a complete London to Rome train route.

As well as the Paris to Rome overnight route, Artesia also run night trains from Paris to Venice... and they run trains going the other way as well, of course!

Information and timetables for all routes can be found on the Artesia website, and booking and current pricing is available through Rail Europe.
