Billed as "Italy's most popular half-marathon", the Roma-Ostia has been going for thirty-five years and is something of an institution in the city. The run starts at EUR Palalottomatica, to the south of Rome, and finishes in Ostia at Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo.
Registration costs between €18 and €30, depending how far in advance you sign up—see the official Roma-Ostia website for details.
Asof 2009, the record times for the 21,079 metre race are currently one hour and six seconds for men, and one hour, nine minutes, and twenty-four seconds for women.
