The key to this book is in its title - this is not a book for those looking to get rich by investing in the Italian property market (and indeed, it stresses that this would be an unlikely prospect) but for people looking to buy with the aim of living in Italy. Having said that, the book contains little in the way of regional characteristics which might help you choose where in Italy to live, but it is extremely detailed about the myriad of financial, tax and legal issues which prospective buyers need to contend with. As well as all the basics, this guide also contains comprehensive information about carrying out renovation works, letting your house, transferring money and how not to get caught out in Italy's complicated regulatory system.
